How to advertment?

Well it was an great a experince because we were looking at video and things to learn how to adverst. and I learned alot and I liked when we were in a group and making up an script of the kickapoo park and really have fun. I was really exicting. i had fun with zavier and Jai’Elle and Ta’Nashia. I reallly enjoyed myself. I caan’t wait to next time. I think that we will have alots of fun tommorw.

Friday best day ever!!!! I went fishing (caught 4 fish) shooting (shot 3 with Nasja) Anddddd shot photos best day can you say.!? And we went canoeing/kayaking (iI(almost fell out of the kayak). Well anyway I had alot of fun and I really (i know I keep saying it) but, I really think it was the Best Day Ever!!..

Gratitude for Another Awesome Day at the Park

Ta’Neill and I shared a canoe for the group canoe ride down the river at the end of a day full of activities.  Although she was in the bow position of the canoe and I was in the stern position (the steering position), she did most of the work while I videotaped.  She handled the boat like an expert. She has such poise at her young age. 

The excitment of shooting a real gun hooked everyone it seemed to me (me included) and yet the tranquility of fishing and kayaking in the river and getting up close to nature with the camera were equally compelling to us all. 

The experts John lined up yesterday for day two at Kickapoo (professionals from the DNR as well as volunteers) to teach us gun safety and shooting, photography, canoeing and kayaking, fishing and exploring in the river were excellent teachers.  They were gentle and engaged and really know their stuff and how to teach it to others.  I’ve learned new things and I look forward to teaching those things to my neighbor kids the next time I take them to Kickapoo. My father, who hunts and shoots at targets, will enjoy this website and the video of everyone in action.

We’ve started to create some educational videos with this project on gun safety, caneoing and river education and its so easy to do with the FLIP videos to capture the instruction.  I wonder if the youth would be interested in making such videos for the website?

Day two at the park was perfect.  I enjoyed being with everyone—youth and adults. I missed Aarian yesterday who overslept and missed his ride to the park. I hope to see him and the others on Tuesday when Michelle starts teaching them about making their PSAs.

I cannot adequately express how wonderful it is to work with these young people and every adult from our partner organizations.  I am grateful!

S.O.S. - Take Two

Well, Jai’Elle and I were partners on the canoe trip down the river. She decided to take the stern (that means she was steering…) and somehow we managed to hit every rock and needed to get a rescue (just a push off really) from some people who were tubing down the river. After that, we worked out our ‘teamwork’ and did great. We had so much fun going over the ‘rapids’ and we caught up to the others. It was also fun just hanging out with everyone. We learned so much - everyone was able to hit the clay target with the guns (even me!). The kids took awesome photographs, too - I can’t wait to see them. The fishing was kind of cool because you could actually see the fish under the water when they were nibbling on the bait. On our river ‘walk’ (actually digging around the rocks and sand for critters) we saw a deer taking a drink of water and a water snake. I learned that there are no poisonous snakes in Kickapoo Park even though some of the snakes may bite. We also found a bunch of seashells and tiny frogs. It was cool just to sift through the sand and water. At the end of the day, we were happy but dirty, hot, and exhausted! We walked about a ‘deep shower’ and I was happy to take a deep sleep last night. I’m excited to move on to the next phase of the project - teaching the kids how to make a PSA. I sure hope we can capture the fun and adventure that we experienced this week on film.

I like when were shooting the clay and when we were canoeing. Even though my hair and clothes were soak and wet. I like when i hold the geese then I got bite it just felt like an pinch. But they were always saying the goose lady it was funny but a joy able. I can’t wait until tomorrow.

Yea i enjoyed giong to kickapoo it was very funny i enjoyed Shooting the most the next best was fishing.After we finished our activities which were Fishing,Shootin,Canewing,and photography. We ate lunch. We had hotdogs,hamburgers,chips,and Brownies.(YUMM!!!!) So after that we went Canewing as a group. Yea me and Shelby were partners and she was scared that we were going to tip over.(LOL) Yea so after that we had to get in another big Canew. (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO) yea after that we left.

FUN DAY

    For the last two days we have had fun day. The first we we tagged geese and shoked fish. One goose bit somebody and the mino almost jump out of the net. Today we had lunch out side we had different activates going on. I did alot of thing for the first time, I shot of a gun it was scare but i was pretty good at it. Then me and Zavier rode in cannoe she is not a good drive because when we were in the water we ran in to a lot of things. When we went fishing i caught 1 fish Zavier caught four and I caught 6 baby frogs. Then we rode in the vermillion river ever on was runing in 2 thing it was fun.

THE FUNNEST DAY SO FAR

today was the funniest day ever if i had a chance i would do it agian.first we did different activitys such as shooting gun canoeing FISHING photography they were all fun but the funniest one was the fishing part even no my group didnt cant any thing but moss it was fun to watch other groups catch fishs.next we ate lunch.after lunch we all went to vermillion river and and looked for tadpoles and rock and shells. after that we went back to get are lifejackets and paddles. and we went back to vermillion river and got in are canoes and we rode the canoes to the kickapoo landing and me and my partner ms.michelle got stuck two times and we were so behind that we had to have someone come and get us lol. finally we got to the landing and there (big suprise) I WAS A FRENCH BOAT and we rode it to the landing the rest of the way and finally the day was over and it was time for us to go home

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAD THE BEST TIME EVER. Omg where to start well i had a chance to shoot a gun fun right. THey got me in a canoe not me at all ‘‘AS WE KNOW’’ but it was fun. i caught three fish i beat the boy i was with ‘‘HA BRANDON’‘. I had a great time like always everyone was great. I know that this is something wounderful i get to do things that i would never do. I never would of did any thing THAT i did today. so in closing i just want to say ‘‘THANKS YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MAD THIS POSSIBLE. I AM VERY GREATFUL YOU ARE DOING THIS.

OMG! The best day everrrrrr!!!!!!

Today at the park…..We totally went canoing. Was so funn! But first we had to be in groups…And guess who i was paired with? Tre’shaun. I know.  Cute right.lol. But it was cool being his partner. He is a really cool kid. OK, the instructor for the canoing said Tre’shaun and me did great, even though it was my first time in a canoe….After canoing, we did photography, which was excellent, not to rub it in, i took the best picture. lol. After that we ate snack which was very very healthy. Then, Tre’shaun and I went fishing and again im not going to rub it in, but i caught a fish and Tre’shaun didn’t thats ok. He did very well. After that, I actually got to shot a gun…lol. I never thought i would ever but i did…..Yay me! It was a Semi automatic shot gun…. yeah. it was fun. I shot 4 times out of 6 target thing. Yeah…WATCH OUT!!! LOL. Then we ate a great lunch, hotdogs and hamburgers. mmmmmmmm yummy and we had watermelons. And for the COOLEST THING EVER, We went canoing down the vermilion river. HOW COOL RIGHT? Its harder than it seems. lol. Then we went to the river in front of the landing at kickapoo…We canoed there in a imatation of a french boat. lol. that was my best day ever!!!!!!!!!!
